Dominic and the Lucid

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Over the last fifteen years, Dominic and The Lucid have built a reputation for themselves as one of the most original and consistent bands in New England. A solid live act from the start, music fans really began to take notice with their breakthrough LP,Waging the Wage (2006), which showcased not only leader/namesake Dominic Lavoie’s majestic vocals but his uniquely classic songwriting and a dynamite rhythm section, comprised of Nathan Cyr (bass) and Charles Gagne (drums).
This release was quickly followed by the ambitious fan favorite, Season of the Sun (2008) featuring the single “Cease to Exist” and the athemic “Be In Love,” which was adopted for promotional campaigns by the Maine Academy of Modern Music. Shows with My Morning Jacket, Blue Oyster Cult, and Brown Bird as well as festival spots at Arootsakoostik, the Old Port Festival and an appearance at the Biathalon World Cup followed in promoting the record.
For their third album, simply titled The Lucid (2011), the band found themselves recording at Rocking Horse Studios in New Hampshire and taking in guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Scott Mohler. As a quartet, the band continued to play regionally, winning awards in the Phoenix’s Best Music Poll for Best Pop Rock Act and Best Male Vocalist twice.
With a fresh batch of songs and a renewed energy, Dominic and The Lucid will be spending the first half of 2015 recording their new release, Ferret, which will be unleashed later this year.
